Lit and Libations is the Quady North book club for people who enjoy food, wine and the written word. In April, we’re reading “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.
Count Rostov, in Amor Towles' "A Gentleman in Moscow," is an incredibly well-formed character, one of my favorites of all time. From the bustling Metropole Hotel, the site of his house arrest after the Communist revolution, he is both isolated from a changing society and at the center of it. He manages to adapt to the times, forming deep relationships and maintaining the gentlemanly qualities of grace and manners, including a love of fine food and wine. To join, or read along, visit:
