Wine Club Selections for THE BOXER

Boxer Club members receive two 3L boxes every other month, delivered to their door with free shipping. Here is the newsletter for June.

May was huge! It was full of events, including Applegate Valley Uncorked, our wine club release party, the Middleground Farms dinner (delicious!), the Lit and Libations book club meet, and a great “Local’s Night” with Fat Kid Food truck.  Along the way, we also managed to do some bottling and fill bags, including replenishing our sold-out supply of GSM.   June was busy as well, with some more bottling, bagging and the Savor Southern Oregon tasting, where we received four medals, including a Best of Class award for our 2026 Rose’ GSM.

Back by popular demand, our GSM red blend in a box.  Part of the idea of the Boxer Club was that club members would ultimately get special first access to the smaller lots as we filled them.  It’s like being part of your favorite bands fan club and getting the special single that was only released in Japan.  This is starting to happen now.  The April Bomba shipment used up about half of our production, and there’s only about a dozen boxes left.  The same will happen with our GSM and the Malbec coming in August (spoiler!).  Freshly filled from barrel just a few weeks ago, this is tasting perfect right now, giving solid Rhône vibes with all the spicy gamey notes integrating nicely into the red fruit core.  If you’re keeping track, this vintage is 34% Syrah, 33% Grenache, 29% Mourvèdre and 3% Petite Sirah.

2025 Pistoleta 3L

Rogue Valley

$75/$60

I just polished off a box of Pistoleta last night, popping it open, pulling out the bag and squeezing the last of it into my pre-dinner glass.  This and the Rosé really are my go-to wines.  It’s a little embarrassing, since I’ve always liked trying wines made by other people.  But, from a comfort standpoint, lately, if I’m not having a cocktail, my first glass has been Pistoleta, Chenin Blanc, Rosé or Sparkling.  I just like the clean, cold, refreshing element of these wines.  With dinner, I’m opening something else, probably, depending on what we’re having.  But after I take my boots off and before I start making dinner, I want something I know.  The 2025 vintage is another great version of what has become a real staple for ourselves and our region.  Providing both balance and complexity, the Rhône white blend can be both fulfilling and refreshing.

This vintage includes a lot of our own Mae’s Viognier, plus Marsanne and Grenache Blanc from the newly replanted Eevee’s Vineyard.
