Aside from the fact that Viognier, Syrah and Cabernet Franc are extraordinarily suited for the Applegate & Rogue Valley, they are the grapes of choice for winemaker Herb Quady. Simply put, that is why we exclusively produce wines from these three luscious varieties. A happy winemaker, a magnificent wine.
*Wines denoted to be in the QN Library are wines that have a current stock of less than 5 cases or are produced exclusively for Q-Listers or Quady Underground members. Wines in Library are no longer eligible for discounts and are available by request only. Please email or call the Tasting Room for more information: info@quadynorth.com or 541.702.2123
**Wines denoted to be "SOLD OUT" are currently sold out at our Jacksonville Tasting Room and can no longer be ordered directly from us. However, they may be available at retail stores. Periodically we post on Facebook where we see our "SOLD OUT" wines so that our customers can take advantage of these special finds.
2010 Viognier, Ox Block More restrained than the 2009 offering, reflecting a cooler vintage than 2009. Melon and citrus predominate, with subtle notes of vanilla. Would pair well with spicy foods, and especially Thai food.
$25.00
2008 Viognier, Steelhead Run Vineyard - SOLD OUT** 2008 was a warm, classic year. Viognier at the cooler, Steelhead Run site reached full maturity. We did a 25% barrel fermentation in new, large French Oak barrels, but then aged the wine on the yeast lees in stainless steel for 6 months. Classic melon, stonefruit, and pineapple aromas overlay a subtle note of fresh bread.

2009 Viognier, Ox Block - Library*Lively, yeasty, bready notes leap from the glass and demand further investigation. Lovely crispness and minerality give the wine a seriousness that is rarely found in Viognier.
$25.00 In QN Library* - Available to Q Club Members by request only
"Polished and expressive featureing a lovely pool of almonds, pear, pineapple and tropical fruit flavors that linger easily on teh subtle finish. Drink now."
- H.S. - 91pts. Wine Spectator
2011 Pistoleta The Pistoleta is our first “Rhone White” blend. Composed of equal parts Viognier, Roussanne and Marsanne, it has proven to be a very successful experiment. The Viognier was partially fermented in large French Oak, but the Roussanne and Marsanne were both fermented in stainless steel to promote their natural fruit qualities. The Roussanne and Marsanne were both sourced from the Crater View vineyard outside of Jacksonville, while the Viognier came off of our own “Mae’s Vineyard.”
Citrus and tropical fruit aromas bely a natural racy acidity and minerality. This will be a great wine for moderately rich
seafood, including smoked salmon, or pates.
$19.00
2011 RoséOur Rose was originally a blend of the "saignees" from the Syrah that went into our 4-2,A. Over the last few years, we have begun incorporating early picked and pressed Grenache with our favorite Syrahs. This year's blend is 40% Grenache and 60% Syrah.
$13.50
2008 Syrah 4-2,AAromas of anise, black cherry and white pepper evolve from the glass over time. The wine is substantial, but soft in style, with a lean, mineral profile. "4-2, A" is closer in style to the wines of the Northern Rhone.
$25.00
2007 Syrah, Sam's Valley Vineyard - SOLD OUT!**The warm, windy Sam's Valley Vineyard in the Northeastern Rogue Valley is tended by the Garvin Family and has been roducing dense, concentrated fruit for many years. Our 2007 bottling is one of a small number of single vineyard wines that we have held back from blending due to its unique qualities. Rich, with notes of leather and game, this wine should age very well.
$35.00
2008 Syrah, Steelhead Run Vineyard The 2008 Steelhead Run Syrah is slightly more structured than the 2007, and more restrained aromatically. Made from fruit sourced entirely from the Steelhead Run Vineyard, this Syrah is the most reminiscent of those classic offerings from the Northern Rhone.
$29.00
2008 Cabernet Franc Winner of Best of Show at the 2010 World of WineApplegate Valley Cabernet Franc is one of the foremost examples of the variety. Grown on rolling hillsides in coarse, red soils, the 2008 vintage was barrel aged in French Oak for 18 months. Rich and round, with a supple finish, the wine shows characteristic notes of red pepper built for long term cellaring.
$35.00 SOLD OUT @ Tasting Room
2009 Cabernet FrancIn 2006, we planted our Estate Vineyard (“Mae’s Vineyard) to Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Viognier. 2008 was our first harvest, and we saw exceptional quality from our own vineyard. The 2009 Cab Franc is predominately from Mae’s Vineyard, blended with some fruit from the Frank’s and Castellano Vineyards, both in the Applegate Valley. This wine is 100% Cabernet Franc, a rare item, but it seems to be possible in the tiny Applegate AVA.
$35.00
* We reserve the Arsenal label for our best blended wine of the vintage.
2006 Arsenal
In 2006, we created a happy marriage between the adjacent Applegate and Rogue Appelations by blending Cabernet Sauvignon from the Applegate with Cabernet Franc from the Rogue. The Rogue Valley, with its warm nights and high potassium soils often produces softer wines, lower in color and acidity. By contrast, wines from the Applegate can be tougher, rich in colour and high in acid. by blending, we join strengths and offset weakness.
$40.00 QN Library* - Available to Q Club Members by request only
"Arsenal is a Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc blend, supple and fruity. There are light acids and ripe tannins, along with pretty black fruits and surprising softness in the midpalate, which makes it immediately accessible." - P.G. (12/15/2009) - 89 Wine Enthusiast
2008 Arsenal
In 2008, we decided to follow the lead of some famed Bordelaise and created a marriage between Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Rather than soften the Cabernet Franc, Applegate Valley Merlot served to strengthen it, adding considerable structure. We gave it extra barrel aging (20 months) and bottle aging (1 year) in order to prepare it for release.
Rich and structured, vibrant color and depth. This wine has been built for extended aging. Notes of black fruit combine with a core of earth , leather and game.
$40.00
After the first racking in the Spring following harvest, we evaluate each wine lot and pick our favorite of the year, designating it as our "Flaghip Wine." The variety and vineyard may change from year to year, but it will always be our best single lot of the season.
2006 Flagship Syrah
In 2006, the Syrah from Frank Ferreira's vineyard was superior, with depth and richness from the beginning. We gave the wine extra time in barrel (18 mos.) and bottle (12 mos.) in order to soften the tannins slightly and let the natural vineyard characteristics evolve.
$65.00 In QN Library* - Available to Q Club Members by request only
"Quady North’s Flagship is what the owners consider the best lot of wine of the year, and this year they’ve chosen this superb Syrah. Whiffs of earth and bud, roasted meat and licorice fill the nose, with flavors following. The fruit is like brandy-soaked cherries, wrapped in all the roasted, earthy, organic layers. Tasted even better after being open for 24 hours." - P.G. (12/15/2009) - 93 Wine Enthusiast
2007 Flagship Syrah
Deep black in color. Aromas of pepper and roasted meat, with a tight, mineral quality. This wine is more evasive than the 2006, subtle, fresh, but with its signature long finish.
